Olllaa my beautiful makeup addicts .its been a while but I'm back and I'm here to stay..school has being taking all my attention but i had  to update my blog today ,because I had the time to go hunt for something i've being looking for..'ben nye' banana powder and 'house of Tara High intensity pigment in 'Margaret ekpo' and i wanted to share.

Although i wasn't able to get my Ben nye powder cause I wasn't ready to go past oniru/lekki phase one, I got just my house of tara eyeshadow *yayy*. I checked the whole of palms mall with no result I decided to go check prince ebeano store in lekki phase 1.I recently heard they sell beauty produts.honestly I wasn't expecting much at all but to my surprise they had few stuffs I didn't expect them to have and as a proud makeupaddict even if I didn't see everything I came for,I got stuffs I didn't come for .. 

I got bioswiss makeup wedges you can never have enough wedge.bioswiss eyelash curler nd a black opal eyeliner..

 

The Magaret ekpo eyeshadow palette is as colourful as it gets..

 This is my best eyeshadow palette from 'house of Tara' I already have an idea of what I'm going to do with it.. With a good eyeshadow primer you should get the best result with these..Can't wait to start experimenting and posting this look for you all..

TIP/TRICKS : THAT PERFECT RED POUT..

Ola my beautiful beauty addicts..it's being a while and I apologise as I've being busy with school and exams and I'm done now so I'm back were I belong..and today I want to drop a few tricks and tips on applying your lipstick 

The mouth is an immediate attention getter and the effect lipstick can have on creating the right mood is amazing. 

Red lipstick are mad sexy but only if they are applied the right way.Long-lasting and expertly shaped red lips aren't that hard to do, really! This process works for making every other color look flawless, too.

The diagram below shows ways in which you could correct and fill in diffrent month types to make it look even

There are thousand red lipsticks,diffrent names,diffrent product..MY FELLOW NIGERIAN LADIES RED LIPSTICK IS NOT LIMITED TO MAC's RUBYWOO ONLY!there are diffrent products from mac varying from "mac red" "Mac Russian red" "mac lady danger" etc..be sure to try every lipstick before getting them once you've found your fav you will never want to take it off..

APPLICATION:

Start by applying powder and foundation to your lips lightly to even them out..

Them go round your lips with a sharp pencil the EXACT COLOR AS THE LIPSTICK OR A NEUTRAL COLOUR..(I can't emphasize it enough)

Use the liner to define your lip shape then to fill in your lips as the base of your lipstick (this helps the colour stay longer)

Put on your lipstick,fill in your lips and touch with lipliner

TRICKS:

Blotting with tissue will keep the lipstick from smudging

Put your thumb between your lips and press this will prevent your teeth from getting stained

Dabbing loose translucent powder on your lips to make it matte and long lasting

Lip stains are a great option if you don't want to take so much time applying lipstick..my sis recently got me a NYC lipstain 

Apply lipstick with an angled brush to give you a dramatic look..

And you are good to go.

HOW TO:THE WINGED LINER (photos)

Olllla my fellow beauty addicts.People have being asking for a tutorial on eyebrow the issue is iv made a video on how to shape and fill in your brows but I'm having difficulty uploading it on here but I will immediately I'm able to..but today i am going to talk about how to draw the perfect winged liner using a pictorial and few explanations ..most people want to be able to draw a perfect winged liner same way everyone wants to be able to draw the perfect eyebrow.so below is the pictorial on how to get a perfect winged liner 

 

With just 2lines you can get that easy perfect winged liner..only 2lines!! its the easiest quickest to get a dramatic eye look when you're in a hurry

STEP1:The first thing you do is to draw a line up from the outer of your bottom lash ..how high you go depends on the height of your " winged tip"..I like to start with a short line because it helps to make sure that both eyes are even..so let's call this "line 1" 

STEP 2:The second line(line 2) is drawn  from the inner corner of your eyes straight down to meet the tip of line 1.by drawing a straight line you will naturally create a winged on the outer corner..connect line 2 to line 1 and you're done ..after connecting the lines fil in the triangle and apply mascara ..and you are good to go!

As far as products I love gel liners...toss the pencil liner and get yourself a gel liner and an angled brush for a smooth finish it or pen liner  with the sharp tip.

KNOW YOUR EYES SHAPE!!

Olllaaa makeup addicts..Knowing your eye shape is very important..it helps you pick the best color for your lids..and helps to translate trends and techniques to fit your face..so below are tricks for specific eye shapes..

       DEEP-SET EYES

Lot of people with deep set eyes always complain about their eyes especially because of their prominent brow bone..I personally think deep set eyes can be very cute..

EYESHADOW ON DEEP-SET EYES:

To enhance the eyelid,light and shimmery eyeshadows should  be used on the eyelid and brow bone and more intense shades should be used over the crease to the brow bone and also highlight the inner corner of the eyes and brow bone.when lining the eyes ALWAYS line both upper and lower lash lines on deep-set eyes  and not just upper..never just upper!! 

           HOODED EYES

Hooded eyes feature an extra skin that droops over the crease causing the eyelid to appear small..

EYESHADOW FOR HOODED EYES

Use a light colored eye shadow or a highlighter, preferably with a little shimmer, near your upper lash line and inner corner of the eye .

Then use a slightly darker shade to cover your lid till the brow bone. Blend it very well to avoid creases.

Now use an even darker shade on the crease (you have to pinpoint the crease with your fingertips) and then blend it well so that it covers the outer half of you lid

Use the same dark eye shadow to line your lower lash line with a little smudge. If you are using eyeliner, line the upper lash line alone .Always blend your eye shadows to the outer corners and end it with an angle. If you blend it downward ,your eyes will look droopy. 

Curl your lashes and apply a generous amount of mascara. And you are ready!  

You’ll be able to see the transformation yourself! 

Also apply more liner on the upper lash line than the lower lash line or waterline or leave the Lower lash line bare and use lash curler and mascara to open up your eyes

     PROTRUDING EYES

Protruding eyes gives the appearance of projected eyelid in the eye socket area..

 EYESHADOW FOR PROTRUDING EYES 

You are lucky when it comes to eye shadow as many other eye types have to stick to soft shades to help make their eyes look bigger. You can experiment with dark and smoky looks. Try eye shadows in tones like dark gray, navy and dark brown. Dark colors help make an area appear smaller than it really is. In general you want to avoid light shades as they will have the reverse effect that is making your eye appear larger

Try applying one of these deep shades to the eyelid right up to the socket on the top lid and use a little along the bottom lash line.  If your eyes have a bulging appearance it is generally best to concentrate color towards the center of your eye and tone it down towards either corner of your eye also It is typically best to avoid using hard eye liners as they create very definite lines which aren’t very flattering on bulging or protruding eyes. you are often best off using eye shadow as a means of defining the outside rims of your eyes. Then if desired use a kohl liner and line the inner rims of your eyes in a dark shade to make the eye area draw back a little. Never use white eyeliner on the inner rims as it will make your eyes stand out more. The white eyeliner  tip is best suited to women with smaller eyes.

       UPTURNED EYES or ALMOND   SHAPED EYES

 

  

Perfectly proportioned and a makeup artist dream, almond-shaped eyes can be enhanced using varied eye makeup techniques.

 EYESHADOW MAKEUP FOR ALMOND SHAPE EYES..

The best part about almond eyes is that you can play around with the eyeshadow styles to select the one that you like best.Just about every shadow look works with this shape."

•For a simple daytime look, opt for deep bronze and medium-brown eye shadows. You can choose other shadows in complementary tones like purple and pink.

• Add depth to the eyelid by using the lightest shade over the lid. This can be a light bronze or golden-brown eyeshadow. Apply a dark shade at the outer corners, crease, and the bottom lash lines. Blend the eyeshadow in the crease with a fluffy blending brush. Apply a highlighter shade at the inner corners and on the brow bone.

• Smokey eyes are also perfect for this eye shape. Apply black eyeliner all over your lids. Use a smudging brush to smudge it. This may look untidy but worry not, the end result will certainly be far better. Now use a matte black eyeshadow all over the lid. Apply white highlighter in the inner corners and on the brow bone. Take a flat eyeshadow brush, and apply a silver eyeshadow on the middle of the lids. Blend well so that there is a gradient of silver to black. Run a thin layer of black eyeshadow on the lower lash line to create a mirror effect.

•Applying dark eyeshadow in the outer corners along the top and bottom lashes helps in making the eyes look rounder.

• Avoid heavy eyeshadow all over the lids as it closes up the eyes too much.bright shadows should be your new best friend

CLOSE SET AND WIDE SET EYES

     

CLOSE SET EYES

Close set eyes are less than one eyeball width apart. Creating the effect of more space is simply a matter of using light eye shadows in the inner corners. Try white or sparkling nude shadows. "Dab extra mascara or add individual lashes to the outer corner to pull the focus outward..

WIDE SET EYES

Wide set eyes are more than one eyeball width apart. To bring your eyes closer together, "Rim your top and bottom lash line with a black liner as close to the inner tear duct as possible,Use a mascara comb to swipe all of your tiny lashes from mid eye to your tearduct

DIY:EASY WAY TO MAKE YOUR OWN LIPSCRUB

Hello beauty addicts

I've  realized that some products are best made yourself at home not only because it saves you money  but you're sure of the ingredient you use instead of worrying about what chemical this contains and if its not going to have any side effects.. So today I'm sharing a DIY on lips scrub.say goodbye to cracked or chapped lips and searching for lip products in stores.Here is a recipe on how to make your own  lip scrub.

A lip scrub is an exfoliating product designed specifically for removing dead skin from your lips area and restore your pout leaving your lips plump and smooth.plus harmattan is on the way so trust me we are all going to need it.

INGREDIENTS 

•1 tablespoon of Vaseline or olive oil/coconut oil whichever you have available 

•1tablespoon of honey

•1tablespoon of granulated sugar

HOW TO MAKE IT

Mix the ingredient in a container of your choice(a small bowl works or even an empty container)..mix thoroughly,add sugar if its not thick enough..

      •HOW TO USE

scoop a little amount onto your lips and massage for 1-2mins.you can massage with a toothbrush for extra exfoliation...then rinse off your lips and apply your fav lip balm(I use Vaseline lip therapy)..by doing this you leave your lips healthy and created a smoother surface to apply your lipstick or lipgloss..

FOUNDATION 101:shopping and application tip for that flawless natural finish

HEY FABULOUS BEAUTY ADDICTS!

we walk into a store with just the color of foundation we want in mind without thinking about the most important thing when it comes to foundations..

Black women scar easily from acne and when it comes to covering up acnes or black spots we need more coverage.So today I'm giving tips on how and what kind of foundation to apply for different kind of skin,but first-->

Some foundation shopping tips:

1.if you're going for a full coverage..test the foundation on your jaw line(that's your truest color)don't just buy a foundation and walk out of the store without trying it in your skin

2.YOU DON'T HAVE TO GET EVERYTHING FROM ONE LINE..just cause you just got an iman foundation doesn't mean you have to buy an iman powder.if after applying the foundation you try the powder and you look kind of gray.try out other products..

  For people with deep skins,products like black opal,mac cosmetics,bobbi brown come in colors ranging from light to very dark skin,i'm talking supermodel alek wek kind of deep.For skin this deep,products like Mac foundation in "NW 55" and black opal "ebony brown" only to mention a few...so don't let anybody tell you your too dark foundation don't come in very deep colors bla bla..go to a good cosmetics store,take your Time and ask questions.

•For full coverage cream foundations is recommended..that doesn't mean apply all over your face.apply on affected areas and blend..if you're oily use a primer.

•For medium coverage,that is not a lot acne you just want to even out your skin tone it's advisable to mix your liquid foundation with a little primer or go for a cream to powder formula..

•For medium coverage it's advisable to use just powder..my sister has a very smooth face and most of the time I use just powder on her or my Mac studio finish cream to powder..but if you most use a foundation be sure to mix with the same amount of primer as the foundation ..   APPLICATION

Get a sponge or a brush ..people apply with their fingers. But I advice you to get a sponge or a foundation brush to keep to reduce bacteria therefore reducing risk of getting acne

•apply a primer especially for people with oily face

•Dab you foundation not a lot just little (depends on the coverage)to the sides if your nose,chin snd forehead then blend.be sure to blend into your hair line jawline,ear and neck there shouldn't be any noticeable lines..apply concealer if necessary to the areas you think you need to and blend thoroughly then set with powder..translucent or matte whichever one to give it a flawless natural finish..

Ollllaa señoras et señors..happy weekend people!!!!Nobody told me blogging was so exciting..I officially have a new hobby..soo here's what I have to share with y'all•

 My sister and her pretty friend had a photo shoot a week ago with talented photographer and friend Simi vijay and of course  makeup was handled by yours truly.so i wanted to share the makeup looks I did on the models with you guys..

The ever radiant Feyi(her voice is everything..I can sit and listen to her all day)and all her amazing features.High cheek bone,luscious lips..everything gorg gorg!!

I had no idea what look I wanted to give her,only thing I had in mind was the theme of the shoot and I knew it had to be fierce but not too fierce and since she has a hooded eyelid I decided to take all the fierceness to her lip..

On the lid I used sleek divine palette Caribbean   collection (purple haze)•on the crease I used black opal hypoallergenic shadow(clove)...•highlight her brow bone with black opal hypoallergenic shadow(brown town)•eyeliner is starry eyeliner gel in(black asphalt)•lower lash line l.a pride•filled her brows with Tara orekelewa brow pencil(brown)••lined her lips with black opal precision lipliner(vintage port)•lipstick Mac lipstick(ruby woo)..!!!! And I absolutely love the stuff on her head..

My beautiful sister ..she also possess the same awesome facial features as Feyi.•enhanced her brow with orekelewa by house of Tara brow pencil(brown)•covered her whole lid with black opal hypoallergenic shadow(brown town)•eyeliner starry eyeliner gel(black asphalt)•medium length faux lash ..I applied diamonties and pearls on the liner with a faux lash glue..and for the lips black opal lipstick and liner..!!

Then we took photos and were merry..
